Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) is hosting an art exhibit by artists Bobby Baker & Jessica Baker. The exhibit will be displayed inside the Jimmy Naifeh Center's Learning Resource Center through May 19, 2023. A reception will be held on March 3, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Jessica Baker received a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art from Lambuth University in 2003. After graduating college, she moved to Nashville, where she continued to work on freelance art and children’s books while being employed as a nanny to two young boys for fifteen years.

Jessica has illustrated two children’s books that were written and published by Joan Hartman. Currently, she serves as a teacher’s assistant at Tipton-Rosemark Academy (TRA) and teaches art to elementary students in their after-school program.

Bobby Baker received a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Arkansas State University and began teaching art at Ripley High School in 1974. After 19 years in the classroom, he moved into administration as assistant principal and later became principal. He retired from Ripley High School in 2007, after 33 years of service in public education.

Bobby worked as an art teacher at TRA, where he taught middle and high school art until he was named Head of Schools for TRA. He fully retired in June 2021.

Bobby resides in Ripley, TN, with his wife, Jo. They have two daughters, Alex Harmon, and Jessica Baker. Alex serves as a school counselor at Snowden Elementary in Memphis, and Jessica is employed at TRA, where she is a teacher’s assistant and teaches art to elementary students.
