Vanderbilt men’s golf alum Brandt Snedeker won his first PGA TOUR title in over seven years at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, according to a May 10 announcement. Snedeker finished with a total score of 18-under 266 after four rounds.
Snedeker’s victory is significant as it marks his return to the winner’s circle after a long gap since his last win at the Wyndham Championship on August 19, 2018. The achievement highlights the continued impact of Vanderbilt alumni on professional golf events.
The veteran golfer posted scores of 67-66-67-66 across four rounds to secure his tenth career PGA TOUR win. After completing a final round of five-under-par (66), Snedeker became the clubhouse leader and waited for other competitors to finish. Mark Hubbard bogeyed his last hole, which gave Snedeker a one-stroke victory.
This win is also notable because it is the first time since October 2023 that a Vanderbilt alumnus has won a PGA TOUR event; Luke List previously captured the Sanderson Farms Championship in a five-way playoff that year. Other Vanderbilt representatives at this week’s tournament included current senior Wells Williams and alum Gordon Sargent, both of whom missed the cut.
Looking ahead, Vanderbilt men’s golf team has earned the No. 3 seed at the upcoming NCAA Athens Regional, scheduled for May 18–20 at University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia. Further updates and previews will be available on VUCommodores.com.
