Rep. Mark Green, serving in the U.S. Congress for Tennessee’s 7th district since 2019, recently shared a series of statements on social media concerning immigration policy, firearm regulations, and criminal justice matters.

On April 24, 2025, Green highlighted public sentiment toward immigration, quoting CNN by stating “Even CNN admits that the majority of the American people demand deportations for illegal immigrants.” Green’s statement reflects his support for policies prioritizing immigration enforcement as part of an “America First” agenda.

Also on the same day, Green criticized the Biden administration’s strict enforcement of firearm license regulations, remarking that “In practice, the Biden administration’s ‘zero tolerance policy led to a dramatic increase in the number of Federal Firearm License (FFL) revocations for minor infractions.” He suggested that these infractions were often minor, unintentional, or merely clerical in nature, pointing out the impact of the policy’s implementation.

Later, Green shared a concerning incident involving a repeat criminal offender, stating “Burglary, vehicle theft, battery, kidnapping, vehicular manslaughter, and now this. This criminal was quickly deported by the first Trump administration, allowed back into the U.S. under President Biden, and now two young Americans are dead. This is tragic.” Through this narrative, he emphasized his stance on immigration enforcement and public safety, holding recent policy changes responsible for allowing a previously deported individual to commit further crimes.

Mark E. Green, born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1964, currently resides in Clarksville. Before his Congressional role, he served in the Tennessee Senate from 2013 to 2018.
