Known for his active political engagement, Rep. Green has been a member of Congress since 2019 and previously served in the Tennessee Senate.

On March 13, 2025, Rep. Green expressed approval regarding a decision made by Secretary Zeldin to terminate certain grants initiated by the Biden-Harris administration. He stated, “I’m glad to see Secretary Zeldin terminate the Biden-Harris administration’s outrageous $20 billion ‘gold bar’ grants.”

Later that day, he thanked Heritage Action for their support of legislation concerning shipyards. His tweet read: “Thank you to @Heritage_Action for supporting the Save our Shipyards Act! Read more here: https://t.co/t9M8N9iSX9”

In another post from March 13, Rep. Green criticized Senate Democrats over alleged connections with controversial organizations. He remarked, “Exhibit A on the moral bankruptcy of Senate Democrats. This individual leads an organization with ties to Hamas that calls for the ‘eradication of Western Civilization.'”
