Rep. Mark Green, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 7th district, recently shared his views on several key issues through a series of tweets. Having replaced Marsha Blackburn in 2019, Green has been active in addressing national and international concerns.

On May 7, 2025, at 13:00 UTC, Rep. Green expressed criticism towards the Green New Deal by stating that it “funneled billions of taxpayer dollars into useless projects.” He praised the Trump administration for ending such initiatives and emphasized the importance of directing tax dollars towards projects that lower costs and grow the energy sector. “The Trump administration is bringing this to an end, and making sure the American people see their tax dollars go towards projects that lower costs and grow our energy sector.”

Later that day at 14:00 UTC, he conveyed optimism about domestic production with a brief statement asserting America’s future manufacturing capabilities. “Make no mistake, the future will be Made in America!”

In another tweet posted at 15:00 UTC on the same day, Rep. Green highlighted security concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear program. He labeled Iran as “the greatest threat to the security of our servicemembers and partners in the Middle East,” calling for its complete dismantlement to mitigate persistent threats.“Unless its nuclear program is completely dismantled, that threat will persist.”

Mark E. Green has served since 2019 in Congress after a tenure in the Tennessee Senate from 2013 to 2018. Born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1964, he now resides in Clarksville.
