Rep. Mark Green, a current U.S. Congress member representing Tennessee’s 7th district, has shared several statements on social media reflecting his views on small businesses, international trade relations, and the presence of international students in America.

On May 8, 2025, Rep. Green highlighted the role of small businesses in community development by stating “Whether you own, work, or shop at a small business—you are helping your community grow. We are grateful for the small business owners around the country that employ millions of Americans and serve their local communities.”

In another post made later the same day, he praised efforts to enhance American trade partnerships with the United Kingdom on Victory in Europe Day. He noted “Once again, the Negotiator-in-Chief is closing deals to safeguard American manufacturers and grow our trade bigger and better than ever. On Victory in Europe Day, there isn’t a better anniversary to solidify our partnership with the United Kingdom.”

Later that evening, Rep. Green expressed concerns about international students who fail to adhere to U.S. laws and criticized universities that may protect such individuals. He stated “America is happy to welcome international students. But the second they fail to respect our laws, they become unwelcome. And if universities continue to shield these criminals, they should no longer receive a penny from taxpayers.”

Mark E. Green has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Marsha Blackburn and previously held office in the Tennessee Senate from 2013 to 2018.
