The golf classic took place at Saddle Creek Golf Club in Lewisburg. It honors the late James R. Moon, a businessman, industrialist, educator, golf enthusiast and outstanding citizen of Marshall County. The proceeds from the tournament benefit Marshall County students through scholarships and support from the Columbia State Community College Lewisburg Campus.
“We are very excited to be back on the golf course for the J.R. Moon Golf Classic!” said Bethany Lay, Columbia State vice president for advancement and executive director of the Columbia State Foundation. “Our sponsors and participants have fun while providing scholarships and support to the college students of Marshall County attending Columbia State. The committee works hard to put it together and the community support is appreciated.”
Many sponsors and donors showed their support, including Advanced Eyecare Clinic, First Commerce Bank, First Farmers and Merchants Bank, First National Bank, HAWK Converting, Lambert Lumber Company, Lewisburg Printing Co., Roberts Toyota, US TANK and Cryogenic Equipment.
The closest-to-the-pin winner was Joe Liggett.
