Rep. Tim Burchett, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 2nd district since 2019, recently shared several posts on social media concerning military honors and accountability issues within governmental committees.

On December 10, 2024, Rep. Burchett acknowledged the efforts of Tennessee's 134th Air Refueling Wing through a social media post highlighting their role in supporting airborne defense operations for Israel during an attack by Iran. He stated: "Distinguished Flying Cross Presentation for members of Tennessee’s 134th Air Refueling Wing...These men offloaded thousands of pounds of fuel to ensure fighters remained airborne for the defense and protection of Israel during Iran’s attack."

Later that day, he advocated for McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base to receive new equipment. In his post, he mentioned: "Another reason why McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base should receive the new KC-46 tanker." This suggestion was directed towards @SecAFOfficial.

In another post on December 10, Burchett addressed concerns regarding the actions of the January 6 committee members. He remarked: "If members of the J6 committee destroyed or hid evidence, they should go to jail...We'll see in January if this bunch is ready to hold people accountable." This statement reflects his stance on accountability and legal repercussions related to government investigations.
