On January 22, 2025, Rep. Green expressed pride in hosting a reception for students from Tennessee's 7th district who received service academy nominations. He reflected on his own experiences at West Point and conveyed optimism about the future contributions of these students to national service. "I was proud to host a reception for all of the TN-07 students who received a service academy nomination. My time at West Point gave me the tools to succeed for a lifetime of service. I look forward to seeing where your service leads you!"
Later that day, Rep. Green addressed concerns over cybersecurity threats posed by foreign nations and criminal actors during a hearing with the Homeland Security Committee. He highlighted the increasing sophistication and aggression of cyber threats from countries such as China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. "The People’s Republic of China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and criminal actors weaponize cyberspace to harm our nation. They are only getting more sophisticated—and more aggressive."
In another update on January 22, Rep. Green announced his support for the Laken Riley Act by voting in its favor once again. He emphasized that ensuring community safety remains a top priority and anticipated President Trump's approval of the legislation soon."Once again, I voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act and am looking forward to seeing President Trump sign it into law."
