Rep. Mark Green, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee's 7th district since 2019, recently expressed his views on abortion through a series of tweets. A former ER physician, Green has been vocal about his stance on defending the rights of the unborn and opposing taxpayer funding for abortion services.
On January 24, 2025, Rep. Green tweeted about his medical background and commitment to defending the rights of the unborn: "As an ER physician, I know what it means to save a life. I also took an oath to do no harm—we must do everything in our power to defend the rights of the unborn."
Later that day, he shared his support for legislation aimed at preventing taxpayer dollars from funding abortions: "Not a single penny of taxpayer dollars should go towards the murder of unborn children. That's why I'm a proud cosponsor of @RepChrisSmith's No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act."
In another tweet posted on January 24, 2025, Rep. Green announced his co-sponsorship of legislation targeting Planned Parenthood: "I'm proud to cosponsor @RepFischbach's bill, the Defund Planned Parenthood Act. This legislation: Defunds Planned Parenthood completely for one year Requires Planned Parenthood, its parent company, affiliates, and associated clinics to certify they will not perform abortions…"
