Rep. Tim Burchett, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 2nd district, shared his thoughts on recent events through a series of tweets. Burchett has been serving in Congress since 2019 and previously held positions in the Tennessee House of Representatives and Senate.

On January 30, 2025, Rep. Burchett addressed a tragic crash that resulted in significant loss of life. He emphasized the importance of supporting the families and friends of those who lost their lives, stating, "We will get more answers as details come in, but first and foremost, we need to be with the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the crash."

Later that day, he reiterated his condolences for the victims and stressed the need for a thorough investigation to prevent future incidents. In his words, "Almost 70 people lost their lives. Let's remember these people, along with their friends and family." He also advocated for a measured approach to uncovering the causes of the crash.

On January 31, 2025, Rep. Burchett expressed concerns about national security regarding an individual allegedly granted access by the Biden administration to enter the United States despite connections with Taliban commanders. He urged action by stating, "The Biden administration willingly handed a visa to a man who enjoyed unrestricted access to top Taliban commanders."
