Rep. Mark Green, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 7th district, recently shared his views on border security, government integrity on the world stage, and film industry regulations via a series of tweets. Green, who replaced Marsha Blackburn in 2019 and previously served in the Tennessee Senate, continues to address key issues through his social media platform.
On April 23, 2025, Green emphasized the current state of U.S. borders, attributing their security to the Trump administration's policies. He stated, "Our borders are secure because the Trump administration has ended catch-and-release and rescinded the unlawful mass-parole programs implemented by the Biden-Harris administration. It is now Congress’ turn to do our duty and codify President Trump’s border security and enforcement".
Later that day, Green expressed his disapproval of certain actions on the international stage. He commented, "Undermining one’s own government on the world stage is completely inappropriate and shameful."
In another communication, Green addressed a legislative proposal concerning the relationship between U.S. film studios and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He stated that his bill would prevent government entities from supporting film studios that permit CCP censorship, saying, "My bill would prohibit government entities, including the State Department and the Pentagon, from assisting film studios that allow the CCP to censor their films. This means studios under CCP influence would no longer use military assets or get special federal assistance."
Mark Green, born in 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida, has been an influential voice in the U.S Congress since his election, representing the Clarksville-based district.
