Rep. Mark Green, a current U.S. Congress member representing Tennessee’s 7th district, has recently expressed his views on multiple pressing issues. Green, who has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Marsha Blackburn, shared his opinions through a series of tweets focusing on topics ranging from foreign influence in the entertainment industry to cybersecurity and campus safety.
On April 15, 2025, Rep. Green addressed issues related to foreign influence in the American film industry. "Communist China has no business holding this much power over the American film industry. This is exactly why Congress must pass my SCREEN Act. Let’s keep the ‘red’ off of the red carpet and ensure American films are untouched by communist influence."
The following day, April 16, 2025, Green raised concerns regarding the processes involved in cyber compliance. "Time and again, stakeholders have recounted the hours and countless dollars spent on duplicative paperwork for cyber compliance. When an incident happens, our cyber defenders should not be worried about checking boxes instead of patching networks."
On the same day, Green also commented on campus safety and the treatment of Jewish students at Harvard University. "Harvard takes billions of taxpayer dollars. How are Jewish students supposed to participate in this 'environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect' when they don't even feel safe enough to go to class? Where was the mutual respect from the pro-Hamas."
Mark E. Green is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Tennessee’s 7th district. He replaced previous U.S Congress member Marsha Blackburn in 2019.
