In his post, he stated: "I’m saddened by the passing of Joe Newman Whitworth, Benton County’s last World War II veteran. He was a father, a soldier, a pillar of the community, and a man of faith. My prayers are with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as they remember and celebrate".

The following day on March 22, 2025, Rep. Green highlighted concerns about China's shipbuilding capabilities compared to those of the United States. He announced legislative action aimed at strengthening America's maritime industry through the introduction of the Save Our Shipyards (SOS) Act. He stated: "China’s massive shipbuilding capacity far outpaces the United States. That’s why I introduced the Save Our Shipyards (SOS) Act. We must restore our maritime industrial base to safeguard our national security."
