Rep. Mark Green, a U.S. Congress member representing Tennessee's 7th District, expressed his views on healthcare regulations through a series of tweets on March 28, 2025. Green, who has personal experience with both colon and thyroid cancer, shared his concerns regarding bureaucratic involvement in healthcare decisions and prior authorization affecting treatment timelines.

In a tweet shared at 3:19 PM UTC, Green advocated against bureaucratic control during medical appointments, stating "Americans don’t want bureaucrats sitting in on their doctor’s appointments, and they don’t want them to determine their treatment plans. Burdensome regulations keeping patients from accessing life-saving treatment, like colonoscopies, is not only inconvenient but".

Later, at 3:34 PM UTC, Green highlighted the critical need for timely cancer treatment, drawing from his own survival story. He emphasized that "As a survivor of both colon and thyroid cancer, I know how critical it is to start treatment as soon as possible. Prior authorization can be a roadblock that costs lives. Doctors need to be able to make fast, life-saving decisions without a jungle of red tape to cut through."
