Rep. Mark Green, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee's 7th District since 2019, addressed several critical issues in recent statements. Green, who replaced Marsha Blackburn in Congress and previously served in the Tennessee Senate, highlighted matters ranging from tax relief for storm-affected Tennesseans to concerns about national security and justice.

In a message dated April 15, 2025, Green expressed satisfaction with a decision by the Trump administration regarding tax deadlines. He noted, "I’m so glad to see that the Trump administration agreed with my delegation letter requesting to extend the tax deadline for Tennesseans affected by catastrophic storms. The new deadline to file is now November 3, 2025." He indicated that this extension would offer significant financial relief to residents of Tennessee.

Later that same day, Green commented on a case involving the justice system, stating, "Now that justice has been served to Rachel Morin’s killer, we remember her and hold her family, especially her five children, and all the families of victims of illegal alien crime in our prayers." He criticized the current administration's policies, saying, "The immense damage caused by Biden and Harris’ open-borders policies can’t be fully understood."

Discussing national security on April 15, Green raised concerns about the United States' industrial capacity. He noted, "While the People’s Republic of China builds over 1,700 ships annually, the U.S. struggles to produce even a handful." Green highlighted the implications of this trend on military readiness and the skilled workforce, urging Congress to take action.

Mark E. Green, 58, who was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1964, currently resides in Clarksville. He continues to represent Tennessee's 7th district in the U.S. Congress.
